Are you an experienced Quality Inspector looking for a new challenge? We are recruiting for a Quality Inspector to join a leading manufacturing company in Derby on a Monday-Friday day shift, offering a salary of £31,000.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspection & Testing

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.
  • Use precision measurement tools such as callipers, micrometres, and gauges.
  • Conduct functional tests and random in-process checks (including density checks).
  • Inspect incoming materials to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Carry out Customer Eyes Overcheck inspections and document findings.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate inspection records of test results, defects, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure shop-floor inspection paperwork is completed and archived correctly.
  • Assist in creating and issuing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Prepare and submit quality reports to management.
  • Issue internal non-conformance reports where necessary.

Shopfloor Monitoring

  • Conduct random checks and audits during production to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Provide immediate feedback to operators and supervisors regarding quality issues.
  • Assist in root cause analysis of defects and suggest corrective/preventive actions.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to improve processes.
  • Ensure proper use of the quarantine process.

Compliance & Training

  • Ensure compliance with ISO9001:2015, industry standards, and customer requirements.
  • Train production staff on quality standards, inspection procedures, and measurement tools.
  • Conduct targeted training on product-specific quality requirements and defect recognition.

What We’re Looking For:

✔ Experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
✔ Strong knowledge of inspection techniques, measurement tools, and quality processes.
✔ Ability to identify defects, report deviations, and implement corrective actions.
✔ Understanding of ISO9001:2015 standards.
✔ Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
