Refrigeration Engineer

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000

Location: North Littleton

About Us: A chance has come available to join a leading food manufacturing plant dedicated to delivering top-quality products. Our state-of-the-art facility relies on efficient and reliable refrigeration systems to maintain our high standards. We are now looking for a skilled and motivated Refrigeration Engineer to ensure the smooth operation of these critical systems. The company are going through a period of growth so there are also progression opportunities available. This is an opportunity not to be missed by any aspiring Refrigeration Engineer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on refrigeration systems, including chillers, freezers, and cooling units.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
  • Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and food safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to implement preventive maintenance schedules and upgrades.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and any issues encountered.
  • Ensure adherence to all environmental and safety regulations regarding refrigeration gases and equipment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Refrigeration Engineer, ideally within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Relevant qualifications in refrigeration engineering (F-Gas certification, NVQ Level 2/3 in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of refrigeration systems, including both electrical and mechanical components.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A proactive approach to maintenance and a commitment to continuous improvement.
